​States reported
that 1.4 million U.S. workers filed for new
unemployment benefits during the week ending July 25, an
increase of  12,000 from the previous week. New claims rose last week to
1.4 million as well, marking the first weekly increase after falling for 15
straight weeks.

More than 30 million people claimed unemployment in the week ending July 11,
according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, compared to 1.7 million who
claimed unemployment at the same time last ye
